San Francisco/ Kristin Came to Visit!

On June 17 Kristin made it to the Oakland Airport! I am so happy that Kristin came to visit. We were roomates in apartment 311 at the ridge and I had not seen her in about 3 years. We had so much fun while she was here. She was here from thursday thru sunday which was too short but we did so much in such little time. My friend Bonnie and I picked her up from the Airport on thursday evening, we then drove to the hotel. On friday we went to Alcatraz, we loved walking around the island and the tour was really interesting. After we headed to Lombard street in San Francisco. This street is soo windy but soo pretty. After, we did some shopping and had some food. We did soo much walking around the city and it was so cold. The temperature was about 55 degrees all day! We froze and we looked for sweaters everywhere but we didnt find any. We then headed to see Wicked, it was amazing. I loved it, we all did. It was Kristin's third time seeing it and now I understand why. On saturday we came back to Murphys and showed Kristin around, she was definetly a trooper on the steep bike ride we took her on. We showed her the biggest gold nugget and took her to see some gigantic trees. On Sunday we went to church and Kristin made a delicious fruit pizza for the ward linger longer. Then we took Kristin to the Oakland temple before we said goodbye :( It was such a fun weekend and was sad when it was over.
THANKS FOR COMING TO VISIT KRISTIN! THANKS FOR COMING WITH US BONNIE!

Helping Hands

In may as a part of a stake service project a couple of wards in the area including my ward were in charge of cleaning up and doing some maintenance on the fairgrounds. Every year there is a county fair held there and the place was in need of much work. There was about 100+ volunteers there to help. Everyone had different projects going, mowing the lawns, painting, putting ribbons on the stuff entered in the fair etc. It was so neat to see how many people showed up and the results were amazing, we worked from 8 to 12:30 and so much work got done in such a short time. The fairgrounds people were so happy , they said
" We usually pay for a bus load of prisoners to come and get the fairgrounds ready for the fair but you guys work better and faster" I was glad to hear that was the case.
